Team Leader – Full Time position – Porto

Xperts Council is a fast-growing and international young company that connects investment firms, global consulting firms, and corporates with high level professionals for industry phone sector consultations, senior advisory missions, and board member recruitment. We work alongside global clients such as most of the world’s most prestigious strategy consultancies and well-known investments funds.

With a senior management team who have long standing experience within the Expert Network space, we have taken what we’ve learnt and worked hard to build an expert network focussed on quality, retention, development and fulfilment.

The company is headquartered in Paris and has set-up its Operational Centre in the beautiful city of Porto (we call this the “core of the nuclear reactor”, where our multi-national team of consultants are now based under the responsibility of our COO).

Thanks to our exceptional team and the loyalty of our clients we did well in 2020: increasing our market share, and even getting new customers. We even exceeded our all-time business records on Q3 2020.

By 2025, we predict to have multiplied our turnover by 10 and so are looking for an equally ambitious Team Leader to help us manage the core of the business: our talented team.


You will be reporting to the COO and your role will include:


  • Managing your own team of established and new consultants;
  • Excellent project execution skills from client and expert communication through to hitting both individual and team targets;
  • Extensive engagement with COO and broader management to improve operational efficiency, strategy, research process and productivity.

Coaching and Development:

  • Conducting 1:1 sessions and regular development meetings with your team, mentoring every one into a top performer and securing internal promotions.
  • Develop training programs and define best practices for efficient management and execution of client projects

Account Management:

  • Strong relationship building activities with existing client base of investment funds and consulting firms, including org mapping of client accounts for new users to achieve business growth
  • Ensuring commercial success vs business targets and strong delivery on projects for your team’s portfolio of client accounts
  • Conducting feedback calls and post-mortems with clients; organising regular follow-ups;
  • Building lasting relationships with our existing client base of funds and consulting firms, mapping out the teams and potential leads;
  • Working alongside the Global Sales Director and COO to make sure that trial projects are executed to the highest standard.


Who you will work with:

  • Some of the world’s largest consulting firms
  • Global investment funds (PE, Hedge funds)
  • Corporates in mining, technology, beverages etc.


What we expect of you:

  • Prior experience in an expert network with a proven track record of great results, including in managing small teams (minimum 3 people)
  • Client relationship skills/ Crisis management
  • The ability to work on current research projects to an exceptionally high standard;
  • To be autonomous in managing own workflow and planning projects efficiently;
  • An advanced level of English (C2);
  • A second language (Portuguese, French or German preferred);
  • Excellent communication skills;
  • Empathy, charisma, adaptability, tenacity, coachability and creative thinking;
  • Goal-driven and the ability to see the bigger picture.
